Need Info for Friend30 Oct 2008 04:06 GMT1
Today, my best friend underwent a total mastectomy with (expander
type) reconstructive surgery combined.  She had 1 of 3 sentinel lymph
nodes with 1 cm lesion, other 2 appeared clear.  They removed another
14 or so for full laboratory pathology (won't hear until Friday).

Satellite nodule27 Oct 2008 22:35 GMT18
I have recently been diagnosed with IDC. My presurgery MRI showed a
satellite nodule. My surgeon said if this nodule is also malignant I will
have no choice but to have a mastectomy instead of a lumpectomy.
Has anyone ever had a satellite tumor that turned out to be benign? I am ...

The best treatment of hair loss24 Oct 2008 10:25 GMT1
Although there are plenty of worse things that can happen to a healthy

Evista15 Oct 2008 10:30 GMT4
My oncologist and I talked about this today. Is anyone taking it? He said I
could switch if I want to. He told me to take a month off ALL med (whoa) and
then decide. I know Evista is SLIGHTLY less effective at reducing risk of
recurrence than are Tamoxifen and Letrozole....but it ...
grapefruit juice13 Oct 2008 13:01 GMT17
I drink it every day, have for years, for the lycopene (antioxidant!) and
Vit C, and now comes this study saying it can "cause" BC and that if you've
already had BC (E+) and are taking AI, you shouldn't go near a grapefruit.
so ironic, here I thought I was saving myself. same ...
throat pain, side effect, anyone?04 Oct 2008 00:59 GMT3
Since I started taking Femara this is my worst problem. Nothing helps,
and worst is that I'm a singer and I can't sing.
Some days I get by with hours of no pain; other days.....when I first
started the med it was always worst in the morning (I wondered if I was
Is BC inherited??03 Oct 2008 09:10 GMT2
I was told today that if a mother gets estrogen positive breast cancer
in her 60's that her female children do not have to be concerned about
getting it due to the age the parent got it. It seems it can only be a
possibility for her daughters if the mother got it earlier in life.
