Good news!27 Feb 2006 23:04 GMT3
My wife was diagnosed with bc 3 1/2 years ago, had surgery and chemo
and all was well until a couple of weeks ago when the med onc felt
something in her remaining breast.  Lots of tests later it's diagnosed
as benign.  Whoopee!  So pleased she didn't have to get back on the

Back from the hospital21 Feb 2006 21:57 GMT47
I had my first-stage reconstruction surgery on Monday and came back home
yesterday (Wed.) afternoon.  I have 3 drains which I will probably have for
a month or more.  Taking a one-handed bath with the drains this morning was
difficult, but I was very glad to *get* a bath!

I had a mastectomy on 23rd. September, and while it's all now healed,
the seroma and infection I developed have gone, and I'm to have my
second chemotherapy session this coming Thursday, I have concerns about
the scar, or rather the flesh above and around it.

Decadron19 Feb 2006 21:06 GMT2
Was wondering if anyone can shed some light on the use of decadron in chemo patients.  They give me decadron with my premeds before chemo and added it to control the nausea afterwards when Tigan as I didn't want to use compazine since it makes me really woozy and Tigan alone ...

as possible.
I'm taking part in a sponsored run for Cancer Research UK and need as much

Having been refused funding by the local PCT/SHA, my Mum is appealing
the decision. In the hearing a person may speak on her behalf for ten
minutes, and we feel that whilst family members are willing, perhaps a
professional would be more appropriate (and maybe make clear the ...
became pre-menopausal again. Now what?13 Feb 2006 20:46 GMT3
My wife was taking tamoxifen for more than a year after
surgery,chemo... she has bone mets. The progression of bone mtes made
the doctor come to the conclusion that tamoxifen was not working well.
By that time my wife became post menopausal. She is 43. So the doctor

Taking blood pressure and more besides07 Feb 2006 19:23 GMT1
A while ago Chrissie, my wife had to have a general anaesthetic - She
already suffers from Lymphoedema in her arm after radiotherapy post her

suffer from Lymphoedema is to have your blood pressure taken in the
Chemotherapy VS Radiotherapy07 Feb 2006 15:19 GMT6
My mother has been diagnosed with a LCIS tumor and a DCIS comedo-type
tumor. They took both out but now the doctor was to take the entire
breast out (fair enough, for  what I've read) AND six weeks of
chemotherapy. For what I've found out about DCIS treatment, it requires

Is there anyone out there on the neoadjuvant chemotherapy?  I have a few questions if you can help.

"It's probably nothing, but......."06 Feb 2006 21:25 GMT9
It's 3 1/2 years since my wife's surgery and all seemed well.  However
yesterday we went to the onc for a routine check and he found
something; "It's probably nothing" he said, "but..."  So she'll have a
mammogram on Monday and no matter the outcome we'll take a second
Wish me luck06 Feb 2006 14:43 GMT8
I'm going into the hospital early tomorrow morning to have reconstruction
surgery.  I've been looking forward to this ever since my mastectomy in
December 2004.  I couldn't have immediate reconstruction because I needed
radiation.  Finally the big day is here.  I'm happy but of ...
