Off topic- Question for UK Readers25 Nov 2005 21:48 GMT4
My college age son is thinking about doing a year abroad in England at the University Of Leeds. I have worked with physicians from this University, in fact my son's former pediatrician was a graduate. My questions are: What is the local reputation? Where would the most convenient ...
An encounter with a "survivor"17 Nov 2005 19:38 GMT4
[Crossposted to a.s.c.b. and s.m.d.c.]
I met a woman in her early 90s who had terrible lymphedema in her right arm.
I asked her if it was from a mastectomy, and she said yes, but she'd had the
mastectomy *45* years ago (!) and only developed the lymphedema *3* years
Visit with oncologist17 Nov 2005 10:34 GMT15
Thanks for the welcome in previous posts. Just an update, I met
oncologist on Thursday and will be having 6 sessions of FEC 100
starting tomorrow (Monday 7th) and every three weeks after that. I'm
freaking out more about this than the surgery etc. My hair will fall
First FEC-100 dose15 Nov 2005 16:39 GMT2
Well I had my first treatment yesterday and so far so good. I'm out and
about doing my yoga thing and also went for a run which was great. On
the wig front I really only want something for the few social events
coming up where I won't want to face a lot of looks from people I don't

Liver Met? Update #211 Nov 2005 23:00 GMT1
Still not sure what's going on. The tumor committee (includes a liver
specialist) has decided that the "ill defined" thingie in my liver is
probably benign. It would be major surgery to biopsy it and at this time it
is not recommended (I am  75).

FAQ/Charter10 Nov 2005 21:41 GMT1
This is just an excerpt of the Charter page. So I'm just posting a bit of
it here.
Then there's a link there to the index and the full FAQ.
The last section of the FAQ's pages, has help as to "munging".
Here I go again :(09 Nov 2005 02:11 GMT14
Don't know if anyone remembers me or not. I have lurked ever since last year
when I had a little scare.. my ob/gyn found a "little lump" in my right
breast and sent me for an ultrasound and possible biopsy. I managed to dodge
that bullet and was thankful.
Advice Please07 Nov 2005 14:25 GMT1
I had a lumpectomy last December, and am grateful that it was not cancer.
I had a six-month checkup in June, and the lump is back in the same
area.  My doc said he is hoping it is scar tissue from the Dec. surgery.
I am to go back mid December for another ultrasound.
My Biopsy result :-)07 Nov 2005 05:05 GMT5
Got my tests results back today. No cancer, still not 100% sure WHAT the
