A lurker departs17 Jul 2005 00:34 GMT8
Mostly I lurk, but, I've posted a couple of times. There are others here who
have more positive insights than I can provide.
I write now to advise that my wife passed away at home early yesterday

Here I go again!16 Jul 2005 22:15 GMT5
Had my 6 mo. mammogram and checkup 2 weeks ago (from DCIS surgery and
MammoSite).  They then did an ultrasound on other side but said it was
benign cyst.  Then today I get a call to go back for another mammogram -
more calcifications on that side.  so I suppose it will be the whole ...
Biopsy -- Well, I thought it was funny.16 Jul 2005 22:04 GMT3
Went for a follow-up recently to one of my BC team (surgeon).  On the
breast exam -- if you can call it that after a bilateral mastectomy! --
he found a moveable lump below my surgical scar, within the area of my
radiation field.
MRI & port-a-cath?16 Jul 2005 20:03 GMT9
Can you have an MRI done, if you have a port-a-cath surgically implanted

CHF & blood tests?16 Jul 2005 14:18 GMT6
Yesterday, the cancer doc did a test for potassium.
The results were in today. Mine was low. And he prescribed some
potassium chloride pills, which look big enough for horses.
Since I have many injuries, including ones to the neck & throat, & some
Probable new case15 Jul 2005 02:23 GMT2
My wife and her general practitioner (GP) think that there is a strong
likelihood that she has breast cancer. She was due to have tests at
hospital yesterday (Thursday), but there were problems with transport
and with hospital availability, so the appointment has been set for ...
Phemara alternative to Arimidex ?14 Jul 2005 21:31 GMT8
My wife started to be on Arimidex six months ago and suffered increasing
nausea symptoms, apart from medium bouts of joint discomfort.  So as, it
became unbearable, she asked her surgeon to have another drug.
The surgeon decided for a one-month break , free of any drugs, and   ...

Mom passed away12 Jul 2005 23:45 GMT11
Mom passed away on May 14th. I had gone to india to see her for a month
in April. She was ok when I got there; but deteriorated quickly; and
within 4 weeks she was gone.
She was the best mom ever; not once did she complain of pain and

Pregnancy and breast cancer odds12 Jul 2005 21:30 GMT4
My wife is 33. We are thinking of having our first baby. The problem is
my wife's grandmother had breast cancer. Her mother died 10 years ago
of lymphoma, so she *might* have also later developed bc, something
we'll of course never know.
Support Group and Heather12 Jul 2005 20:57 GMT18
Heather, what right do you have to tell me about my rights?  It seems
that all you want is sympathy; because of our experiences, members of
this group do offer each other  sensitive insights.  Take them or leave
them, but don't get mad at the posters who are definitely in the spirit
Search Engines11 Jul 2005 21:56 GMT5
Hi Bea,
Whenever you have a question (about something you hear about, or see on
TV, or read on newsgroups), ..... then "search engines" can be very
helpful.
Hard Choices11 Jul 2005 14:22 GMT6
I have DCIS in my right breast. I've had a lumpectomy which still had
DCIS in the margins. A 2nd operation to get a clean margin didn't.
There were still DCIS cells there. I'm now trying to get info on
reconstructive surgery so I can decide between that and a 3rd attempt
My Mother--Stage 411 Jul 2005 01:14 GMT27
First let me say that Mom was always very proud of herself for never going
to doctors.  67 now, and never had a mammogram, never had a pap test.  Her
psychological problems and fears of the medical profession in general due to
some childhood tonsilectomy trauma made her only go ...
