I hardly post in this ng anymore, but I still come over to see what's
going on. I'm not really a stranger, but I guess I act like one. I know
there are some knowledgable people here and more I'm trying to learn
specifics pertaining to the blastic type of bone mets and the best

Femara?27 Jul 2005 08:13 GMT10
My wife is about a year into five years of Tamoxifen.  Her new onc (old
one retired) recommends changing to Femara.  What I've read suggests
starting Femara at the end of the Tamoxifen treatment.  Anyone have an
informed opinion about the desirability of switching at this stage?
Just wondering///////26 Jul 2005 15:08 GMT10
I was here back in 2003 when my wife was undergoing treatment for
infiltrative breast cancer.
Exactly 4 months after her first year "anniversary", she locked me out
of our home and filed for divorce.

Ghost Sensations21 Jul 2005 03:41 GMT12
I heard a story from a person today about a woman who had a mastectomy.
He related that she claimed to have ghost sensations during arousal, and
would start to fondle her "breasts", in a fashion similar to a
paraplegic scratching and itchy ghost limb.

Second mammogram showed very tiny calcifications, which of course means
biopsy.  Doctor to call.  I needed this like a hole in the head since my
back is killing me, shooting pain down through knees, even the fake knee.
Looks like an epidural (3rd one) locally would be Aug. 2, could ...

Survivor?18 Jul 2005 21:07 GMT6
It was a year in April since I first felt the lump in my breast.  It was a
year June 30th since I was diagnosed.  I was just wondering, for those of
you who refer to yourselves as "breast cancer survivors," when did you start
calling yourself a survivor?  When did you stop saying "I ...
Diagnostic vs Screening Mammography??18 Jul 2005 18:38 GMT9
Today, I called the place where I go to have my annual Screening
Mammography to make my appointment and was told that they have changed
their procedure.  If one has never had bc, they do the Screening Mammo
but for those like myself who have had bc, they must do the Diagnostic

My math skills are deteriorating quite a bit since I had cancer.
At the grocery store on a bad day the clerk will say that I owe $50.16
and I'll hand her $50 or $50.60 or $60.50.  I'm also not as focused as
I used to be, and can't multi-task the way I used to. No more talking
How best to prevent recurrence?18 Jul 2005 18:16 GMT2
Hi, All
Last month I had microcalcifications and a biopsy diagnosing DCIS, high
grade, non-invasive.  I opted for a simple mastectomy on the left breast
(done the 23rd ) and the final path report showed 'another' site,

Well, we're back in the fight.  CEA and CA15-3 are slightly elevated
from last month and Dr. Smiley gave us a choice between Navelbine and
Taxotere in addition to the Herceptin, Arimidex and Zoladex she's
doing now.
