I am experiencing my 2nd go round with breast cancer.  I was originally dx'd
9 years ago at age 43.  All I needed then was radiation.  While I am at
Stage 1--tumor 1.7 cm by 1.2. cm and no lymph involvement, we are going to
do chemo this time.  Plan is for every 3 weeks for 4 ...

A couple of months back I felt something on my lower back that I hadn't felt
before.  I  showed my husband and he thought it was a skin tag.  I showed my
daughter who is in her 4th year of medical school.  She didn't think it was
anything.  It is in area about an inch above my waist ...

Monday Doc gave me the bad news that my previously-thought in-situ (?) cancer had spread outside the duct.  So the lumpectomy that was performed on 09DEC04 had some cancer cells in the margin on one side.  
He said we need to go back in and remove slightly more of the original ...

it's been recommended i have a 1 1/2 cm lump (poss. benign) injected
with air,mammography,then biopsy.why bother with all that? just do
lumpectomy and pathology.

I have an appt w/ a surgical oncologist tomorrow to schedule an excisional
biopsy on a 4cm lump/thickened area in my right breast.  The
mammogram/ultrasound was on Thursday.  Over the weekend, at first I thought
the lump was changing or disappearing because it became less ...

I am scheduled for a lumpectomy, but failed to ask my doctor this question.
For those of you who have had a lumpectomy, were lymph nodes always
removed during that procedure?

Forgive this sort of of topic post but I have been crying since last
night when my dog died. I had him from puppyhood until 13. When I got my
diagnosis of BC Stage 1V I never shed a tear. I guess that is weird -
don't understand it.

On November 10th, I finally went for a mammogram after 4 years of
avoiding one.  I have been dealing with major depression/anxiety
disorder and a host full of life changes.  I am 52 years old.
