I just finished 4 treatments of AC. My doctor is ambivalent about giving me taxotere as there is little benefit. Does anyone of the stats on taxotere and the stats on side effects associated with taxotere / decodron. I hac a mastectomy.

I have searched the web for this information but came up without anything. I'm thinking this is the most likely bunch of people who would know. I work for a breast cancer program. I have a client who had a biopsy in 2003 at which time they inserted a metal clip as a marker.

Here is an article about Tamoxifen that might be of interest: http://www.breastcancer.org/tre_sys_tamox_prvntRecur_pf.html The article says Tamoxifen can reduce recurrence by 5-10% in post-menopausal women, whose cancers are estrogen-receptor-negative.

I've been told that PETs aren't good at detecting breast cancer so a calcification will be biopsied. But it did detect a cancer tumor in the breast that they are assuming is breast cancer. Can it detect BC or not? Or is just less good at it compared to other cancers?
