Newly Diagnosed30 Sep 2004 05:33 GMT6
I'm a total newbie here, although not to the general subject, as I've had a
radical prostatectomy this year for prostate cancer.
A very close relative, age 61, has recently been diagnosed with breast
cancer. Lumpectomy done last week.  The intrasurgical lymph node biopsy

Wigs-Worcester MA29 Sep 2004 13:18 GMT2
Does anyone have recommendations for places to purchase good quality, well
fitted,  synthetic wigs for a chemotherapy patient (32 year old woman)?
Anywhere within 50 miles of Worcester would work (including Boston,
Hartford, Providence, Springfield), though obviously Worcester MA ...
taxol  and hair loss29 Sep 2004 05:13 GMT8
Having experienced hair loss with a previous chemo, my wife said she  would
rather skip the chemo this time.
But the doctors said she could 'normally' avoid hair loss if she agreed to
use  this ice cold skull cap, if you see what I mean.

Re:  CMF chemo/Annie22 Sep 2004 02:59 GMT7
Annie, thanks so much for writing.  I am so sorry you had to go through all
this again, and hope you are doing well now.
I have come to the decision not to do any more chemo.  I, too, felt terribly
depressed, and had a very negative feeling about the staff and the office
Question regarding Breast Cancer prevention21 Sep 2004 21:58 GMT4
Well, I figured since I researched prostate cancer, I should do some
research for breast cancer for my wife.
She is 32. We don't know her family history exactly as her mother died
at a young age from Lymphoma (42). However her grandmother did have

Hi, family -
I'm asking this here because there isn't a newsgroup available other
than alt.support.cancer and I figure the answers I get here will be
just as good.
CMF chemo 20 Sep 2004 06:16 GMT6
I just started my first CMF treatment today.  It was a long and painful
ordeal because they could not start an IV, until the second nurse who tried
finally got it started in the wrist.  There were a total of 7 punctures
before success.  It seems I will have to have a port, which ...

Re:  CMF chemo17 Sep 2004 22:28 GMT1
Thanks to Barb and Jo for the encouragement.  I am feeling much better today
and blood pressure is normal again.  So far no nausea.  I guess I will
inquire about having the port installed.  I talked with a woman there in
treatment who had one, and she said it was a bit painful at ...
