my recent mammo11 Jun 2004 21:27 GMT9
I hope somebody here can help or at least give some insight.
I went for my yearly mammo and was called back to do the left breast.  They
redid it and then did an ultrasound.  They told me that they had found
"something" it showed up more defined on the mammo but not so much on the
Open letter to Su-Texas11 Jun 2004 12:45 GMT51
Dear Su,
Everyone on this group has been extremely patient with you but you've tried
people to the limit now. Several of us have tried to help you very often, to
make suggestions about possible assistance but you resist such suggestions.
diet pills10 Jun 2004 21:50 GMT1
I've been on Tamoxifen 20 mg. for 9 months now and I see my weight
creeping up despite exercise. I was thinking of buying an over the
counter diet pill but want to make sure it won't mess with the
Tamoxifen. I take my Tamoxifen before I go to bed, if that makes a

Would anyone here be willing to share with me their personal experience
of this chemo and it's side effects?  I've read the paperwork but would
feel better hearing the real story from real people.

Have not had time to think. There has been someone visiting or calling on
the phone constantly.Everyone has been so kind. I filled up the freezer
before my surgery, but so many people have arrived with pies and casseroles
I will not need to cook for ages.
New Here09 Jun 2004 09:20 GMT1
I have a question, and am alittle confused.
I have had checkup every 6 mos. for the past two years.  It starts out
with a mammo, then an ultrasound.
Today I saw my doc and she wants me to have both done, as well as seeing
hematoma09 Jun 2004 04:40 GMT5
I saw my radiologist today to schedule radiation.  I had a lumpectomy on May
4th, but there is a lot of pain and swelling and a hard lump under one of
the scars.  The doctor told me it was a very large hematoma, and she did a
CT scan.  I asked if treatment was needed for the ...

I read a lot about them on this group but don't know if they're used in UK.
Are they?

Had my double mastectomy on Thursday at 2pm .They decided to keep me in over
night instead of day surgery. Came home yesterday lunchtime. Everything went
very smoothly and I am uncomfortable but not in any real pain.. I did catch
my drainage tubes on the bedside table this morning ...
Aspirin07 Jun 2004 16:41 GMT33
I haven't posted in a long time, but continue to lurk.  Just wondering if
anyone has heard of taking aspirin to lower the risk of breast cancer.  A
friend of mine said she heard it on the news a couple of days ago.  I didn't
see it and wonder if anyone has heard of it and, if so, ...
Skin biopsy07 Jun 2004 04:08 GMT14
I am scheduled to have a biopsy this morning on a weird blister that popped up
on my chest last week.  Actually, there were at least 5 lesions, two were clear
liquid blisters and the others were hard and pink.  They were in a line towards
where the bottom of my bra/prosthesis were.  ...
How much is excessive?06 Jun 2004 22:37 GMT4
I spend a good part of my working day on the computer, I  am also going to graduate school that requires a bit of time on the computer. I do spend some time with the newsgroups but usually limit myself to a couple. How much time do you spend on the computer ? And when do you ...
Sentinel nodes06 Jun 2004 04:51 GMT13
I am a bit puzzled to see on the UK news that doctors have discovered
a new method of finding out whether the breast cancer has spread by
only removing the sentinel node, instead of about 20 nodes.
It is hailed as a new British discovery which will save many women
Is this normal practise in UK?06 Jun 2004 03:51 GMT7
I recently went for an appointment with my surgeon exactly a year after my
mast which was April 2003, (original diagnosis was Sept 2002, grade 3 stage
2 invasive ductal) and everything was ok. I wasn't told to have anymore
tests, I was just examined. My surgeon was please with the ...
