Lung mets10 Mar 2004 01:14 GMT5
Gloria's latest CT scan shows a metastasis to one of her

My wife, Dorothy, was found to have breast cancer, and has had a lumpectomy
with some axillary lymph nodes removed. We are awaiting an appointment with
an oncologist and further details on the pathology report. Meanwhile a
friend has told us her father has been taking "Protocel" ...

Chemotherapy & loss of finger nails07 Mar 2004 00:09 GMT1
My wife's been taking capecitebine for a while and is due to restart in a

killing off tumours with fewer side effects than her previous FEC
chemotherapy.  One problem is that it is causing her finger nails to ...

Would an Endocrinologist be the one to do the bloodwork/etc., that would
show hormone levels in estrogen-positive Breast Cancer patients, for
after-care purposes (that is, for after chemotherapy & radiation, &
other treatments are finished)?

What are the current views on this?  In my local health authority (I'm in
the UK) we have a waiting list for radio and I have been told I cd be
waiting for up to 12 weeks.  I am seriously considering going private.

almost continuous shoulder pain since then. All this while I assumed
it was because of the surgery, but now since it has been a year since
the surgery, and she is still having pain,I am not sure anymore. Her
