Validation--finally but not sure of implications...24 Mar 2004 19:15 GMT4
I can't even describe the feelings I have re-validation that I have been
'right' all along re the fact that not only does lobular b.c. present
differently in the breast, it does that as well if it metastasizes.  As I have
bored many of you  already with long, detailed posts, I will ...

First mammogram22 Mar 2004 22:01 GMT4
I'm a newbie here, and need some expert advice on what will probably sound like
a dumb question.
My mom had a lumpectomy 12 years ago (tumor was less than 2cm), had follow-up
radiation (no chemo) and has had an all-clear every exam since then.  I crossed

small growing lesion  1.2 x 1.0.  He recommended a lumpectomy followed by
radiation, short-term.  If there is lymph node ...

Researching for a "survivor's" book - reposted21 Mar 2004 06:13 GMT7
I was originally diagnosed with cancer back in 1997 when cancer cells were
found on fine needle. They couldn't find the lesion at that stage, the
lumpectomy showed only a fibroadenoma.  Slowly the lesions developed and
were removed at mastectomy in June 1999. Because it was ...
a book19 Mar 2004 21:10 GMT4
I'm supposed to have my left breast removed Wed. I have Ductal catagory

the doc doesn't think it has spread he said I wouldn't be happy with a
lumpectomy. My Naturopathic doc said I must read "What Your Doctor ...

Very bad news19 Mar 2004 02:21 GMT10
Gloria's CT scan came back yesterday.  Seven brain lesions.
She got her first dose of full-brain radiation today.
The good news is that the literature seems to say there is a
fair degree of short-term success with this sort of
Exercises for Post-Mastectomy/Lumpectomy18 Mar 2004 19:47 GMT4
There've been several threads in the recent past about how to deal with
discomfort, stiffness, limited range-of-motion after
mastectomy/lumpectomy/axillary disection/radiation.
I have no personal experience with this (nor do I have any relationship
Hello from a bc survivor17 Mar 2004 09:34 GMT5
In 1993 I was diagnosed with bc at age 59.  I had a mastectomy and 19
node were removed.  My doctor felt I did not need chemo or radiation
because my tumor was small and prescribed tamoxifin for 5 years.  I have
been cancer free since my surgery.
