Anyone else get scared and down by their asthma?10 Jul 2004 14:04 GMT11
I have asthma for 5 years now, after having two cats for a year. I
developed asthma and got rid of the cats. It cleared up after a few
months.  I then got a pet bird and developed problems after that also.
They also went away after the bird left.  This past winter I had

I'm 57, non-smoker, never had any allergies or respiratory problems.
About eight months ago I developed a scratchy throat and dry cough.
The cough got worse, was diagnosed as bronchitis a week later, Treated
it with antibiotics and tussinex cough syrup. A week later it was much
Steroid inhalers, sore throat07 Jul 2004 14:18 GMT9
I understand that steroid inhalers can make throats sore and tight. Has
anyone found anything that helps with that?  I'm finding that if I spend too
much time in an air conditioned environment, it makes it even worse
(probably dry air).

One way to prove that auto air pollution is a killer is to do a long term
study of toll takers in major cities. The same study could study the health
records of construction workers and people living near major highways or
Air pollution and asthma06 Jul 2004 22:21 GMT10
without any doubt in the world there is a correlation. Its amazing but not
surprising how people think allergies first and sometimes never equate the
quality of their cities air or time of day they go out to their asthma. Many
people don't even know that if you exercise in bad air ...
For my friend CBI06 Jul 2004 00:07 GMT11
Hiya -
I have a question for you.  I've been undergoing a series of tests to figure
out why I have severe swelling in my feet, ankles and now legs.  It's been
going on for about 3 weeks.  The dr has ruled out heart, kidney, liver, and the
accomodations at work05 Jul 2004 19:14 GMT4
i've had a job for a few weeks. but where i sit there are ppl coming round
who have perfume on. i told them before they hired me that i can't be
around people wearing perfumes or colognes and i can't be around strong
smells or chemicals or smoke. it's like people are oblivious. ...
Will a routine physical catch asthma?05 Jul 2004 08:37 GMT18
I'm fairly convinced my wife (age 59) has untreated asthma.   Last fall she
had some kind of a cold/flu or lung infection that had her in urgent care
several times because of a disabilitating cough, during one of the visits a
nurse casually mentioned that she had asthma.   She was ...
Feeling better and on antibiotics03 Jul 2004 05:40 GMT1
I went to my pulminologist today and talked to him about the idea of
my asthma being caused by pneumonia. He was not put off by this. He
really listened said it did not sound outrageous at all. So he has put
me on 12 weeks of antibiotics and we will see if this does any good.

Anyone have adult onset asthma caused by exposure to one allergen?02 Jul 2004 01:38 GMT78
I am just wondering this because I seemed to have developed asthma 5
years ago after having two cats for about 1 1/2 years.  I did not get
gradual worsening of symptoms, but got a bronchitis that turned into
asthma and it really just never went away.  So I am begining to wonder
Carbocisteine01 Jul 2004 19:32 GMT1
Does anyone have experience of taking this drug for their asthma?  Have you
experienced any adverse effects whilst using it?  Is the drug for use in
acute cases or can it be used long-term?
Thanks

through various medications.  Bronchitis I could not control until
recently.
I noticed that over the counter Bronkaid, with ephedrine and
