I don't know if anyone out there has similar issues with their childs
behavior on medication or not. It's so frustrating. My child is on
several asthma and reflux medications. And right now is doing a burst
of oral steroids. He's only 3 1/2 and has a difficult time controlling

Just switched to Advai diskus from Serevent propellent.....no need for Flovent anymore?30 Sep 2003 02:21 GMT7

fluticasone propionate which is a corticostereoid.
Does this mean I am getting the benefit of my old Serevent inhaler and Flovent
inhaler with just the Advair diskus ?  Or should I continue to use the Flovent

So, what would be next?27 Sep 2003 11:11 GMT9
Ok....my turn to pose a question.
This summer, I was finally diagnosed with asthma.  I had to take the
initiative and start doing some peak flow monitoring myself, but when I
brought the numbers to my GP, he took action on it.  In the last while,

Persistent Mild Shortness of Breath (dyspnea)25 Sep 2003 13:26 GMT3
I had an asthma episode 3 months ago that landed me in the ER for a 3
hour visit for corticosteroids and antibiotic (since it was a nasty
chest cold that prompted it).  Last time was in high school 20 years
ago after occasional 'childhood' asthma.  I have been very physically

Hi, I have sympatoms of asthma, short of breath, coughing (at night) and
feeling as though someone is sitting on my chest. My doctor has not yet
tested me for asthma, yet these symptoms have been going on for the past
half a year...any suggestions. It has been getting worse rapidly.

I'm posting this article and editorial for a few reasons.
1) It has been suggested that C.  pneumoniae causes a lot of things,
specifically coronary artery disease (CAD), and that for nefarious reasons
the whole thing is being ignored or suppressed. This is just not so (the

'Quality Gap' Kills 57,000 Annually24 Sep 2003 00:03 GMT9
An article in the Wall Street Journal last Thursday mentioned this study.  I'm
not an online subscriber, I get it in print so I can't copy it here, but one of
the things the article stated is that it takes much too long for information
about the best ways to detect and treat disease ...
Fans and asthma23 Sep 2003 23:49 GMT3
I'm hoping someone here can resolve a disagreement between my wife and
I. We have an ongoing argument about the use of household fans:
ceiling fans, pedestal fans, window fans, anything that moves air
around. She does not like them and swears that they *cause* asthma.
