Grand daughter went to a rheumy about her increase in joint pain. Rheumy a she, told daughter and GD that she doesn't have arthritis because her ANA was neg and her RA was just a little high. Never ordered any more testing.

I just got the email tonight. Johnie passed away december 31, at 4 pm. After his back surgery he was unable to move much and developed blood clots in his legs and lungs. He developed double pneumonia causing his lung to collapse.

I am writing from Croatia. I am 33, had arthritis since I was 3. I now have both hips and knees joints replaced and ankles surgically stiffed/ firmed (I have a feeling I dont know the english word for disabling the movement of a joint surgically? ;)).

Folks--I've had plenty of back pain over the years. Today I leaned forward to shave and WHAM. My back went out -- SEVERE pain and I am in bed with my laptop for company. What a damn way to start of 2009!
