My novel was released on 13 December 2006 (in the US) and I had to restrain myself from handing out my bookmarks right away because I thought I would be wasting my effort and money, because my book wouldn't be available in Australia yet.

After all the messing about I now have a diagnosis. :-) or possibly :-( I apparently have sero negative rheumatoid arthritis. Which if I understood rightly isn't quite as bad as ordinary RA. So now I'm being referred to a different rheumatologist who believes this
