I'll be asking my doctor this question but I was wondering if any one has taken prednisone while having a flare (without calling the doctor). I'm on MTX but some days, not often, I just feel as if I need something additional to make me feel better.

A friend has just been diagnosed with RA and Plaquenil isn't working for her. Her doctor wants to put her on gold therapy. Where can I point her for more thorough info than her doctor is giving her?
