done a cat scan and mri today. the scary thing is, could they have done
some damage when they removed the schwannoma? or is it from the
OTP:What I did on my kid's spring vacation27 Mar 2005 16:34 GMT2
Well, we couldn't take the whole week off work, so we decided to make at
least one day an educational family outing. We were torn between the Oregon
Zoo or OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry), which was having an
exhibit for kids called "Animal Grossology". Tough choice....
Missing my Enbrel shots27 Mar 2005 13:47 GMT5
My doc switched me over to the prefilled shots and upped my dose to 100 mg
per week for the next 90 days.  I was expecting to receive my new medicine
in time to continue my doses.  Per my doc's advise, I increased my dose
using my old medicine and then the insurance company said ...
Ping:   Carole27 Mar 2005 13:32 GMT11
Carole,
Am wondering how things worked out with your work situation?   Was your
cardiologist able to talk to the powers that be and get your short term
disability reinstated?    Is there anything we here in the group can do
Underarm/side pain and breast soreness27 Mar 2005 07:38 GMT1
I have been experiencing underarm pain that runs all the way to my
shoulderblades.... especially on the left side.  This usually worsens when
I have my monthly period.
Picking up my child also worsens the pain.  The pain was so bad at one

RA in remission?26 Mar 2005 19:14 GMT8
A woman I work with told me today that she has RA. She has been on
medication for less than two years (I think she began a combo therapy
in July). Her joints are swollen but probably not noticeable to someone
who isn't looking for it :) She is feeling good and her rheumatologist
Minimally Invasive Total Knee Replacement26 Mar 2005 16:39 GMT4
My primary doctor is recommending that I get a TKR by a doctor who does a
minimally invasive procedure.  This doctor is the same one who pinned my
hip when I broke it and I was impressed with him then.  He is possibly the
only one in Missouri who does the minimally invasive ...
Co-Dydramol rather than C-Prox26 Mar 2005 10:42 GMT7
Well my monthly "script" has been changed from Co-Proxamol to
Co-Dyramol 500 mg.  And I have to say that it seems useless.  Has
anyone else had the same change imposed on them?  Someone asked
recently if GP's have had new guidelines imposed on them, without the
otp: prayers please26 Mar 2005 05:40 GMT19
my brother is having major surgery tomorrow (friday) and i'm scared. i
think i mentioned his situation here before. he's 65 (waaaaaayyyyy
older than me, i hasten to point out), and has a benign chest tumor
called a schwannoma. removing it is major enough, but his situation is
I'm confused about remission26 Mar 2005 03:02 GMT2
Re: my other question. Is there such a thing as remission in RA or just
"calm" periods? Since the medications treat the symptoms how can a
person know if (s)he is in remission? If the drugs work then I assume
the pain, swelling and stiffness are under control, correct? If you go
no one reponded25 Mar 2005 21:32 GMT4
Dear Group-
Someone from this group always gives me some good ideas when I ask.  I am
trying to help my niece with her insurance hassles.  See the following--and
thanks for any ideas.  Jan O'

Splints and Braces25 Mar 2005 16:44 GMT2
I got more of the tubular stockinette for my splint, gauze is too tight.
I was told to watch if fingers turned color.

ABX Therapy25 Mar 2005 15:16 GMT3
I guess it's not unexpected but my RA is really really flared up not
that I'm on the third day of IV abx.  I remember those folks on abx
therapy for RA have talked about it getting worse before it gets better
-- do you think that could be the reaction I'm getting or is it the 3
