Card exchange--reminder29 Oct 2004 02:23 GMT2
It's only me again with a reminder about the Lori Varela Memorial
Greeting card exchange. I had hoped to close the list on November 1st
and send it out that night.
If you wish to participate, send me your snail mail address.
Federal  health insurance open season begins Novermber 829 Oct 2004 02:13 GMT1
Many of the insurance plans have published their 2005 summary of
benefits on the web. I know many of you have BCBS insurance and the 05
program has been posted.

Scotty, a story of a great man and prayer request29 Oct 2004 00:45 GMT42
Several hours ago someone knocked at my door quite insistently-loud enough to
get me off the treadmill.  I wasn't planning on answering-I was covered in
sweat and wearing sweatpants and a spandex top.  I had ten minutes left to
walk.  The knocking was urgent-I responded.
OTP  Flu Shot Today28 Oct 2004 23:41 GMT1
Flu shots were to start being given at 8:00 AM today at the Health
Department.  I got there at 7:00 and was number 755.  Was given a ticket to
come back at 12:30 and drive in at a different driveway.  I was glad to do
that instead of having to wait for 754 shots to be given while I ...

Traveling with Enbrel.28 Oct 2004 19:00 GMT3
Having recently started a program using Enbrel I was wondering what people
do when they need to travel.
The healthcare at home people obviously said that the drug needs to be kept
between 2 and 8 deg c. They said that it should be ok kept in a cool box for

Replacements28 Oct 2004 15:12 GMT13
Forgive my ignorance, but when you have a knee, shoulder, hip
replacement does that mean you won't have any more RA or OA problems
in that joint.
I know that joint replacement (replaces the joint) and lasts a certain

Lucky Timing28 Oct 2004 06:40 GMT4
Well, now that I've been off pred for a week, my allergy symptoms are
gradually coming back.  I am more sure than ever that the cause is the
hardware in my ankle (I have a new watch made from the same stuff that gives
me hives).  The ankle looked and felt great for the last few ...
Hip Pain 28 Oct 2004 05:36 GMT7
I hope that someone out there can relate or give me some direction.
I live a very active lifestyle. I have an acute pain in the shoulder and hip
areas in the evenings. It is weird because when I wake up the pain is no
longer there. I thought this was from the work outs and so forth ...
New Shoes28 Oct 2004 03:47 GMT14
So, one of the items of my "knee health" list was to get some better shoes,
to go with the orthotics.  I ended up with a pair of Doc Martins.  Wow,
these shoes are something else!  The support and fit are amazing and I bet
my legs get a little stronger because they are heavy too.  ...
De-Lurk and thans you  (sorta long maybe)28 Oct 2004 03:37 GMT10
I thought it was time I emerged and introduced myself, especially since
lurking the last couple weeks has helped me feel so much better.  At the
moment I'm the only one of my friends/family with OA and, as wonderful as
they are, there is only so much support they can give.  It's ...

Dear Friends,
Your outpouring of love, prayers, cards, emails, snail mails, hugs and
