I have OA in the hip. Usual cramping in the quad and knee. An ice bag feels like heaven but I am wondering if heat wouldn't be better - even on the hip itself.

I had/have severe OA in both knees to the point that it was bone on bone. Before my left knee replacement I tried both Tylenol 3's and oxycocet. It would take the edge off sometimes but for the most part there was no really pain free time.
