I encountered my ex-wife on Sunday. We argued, and in the
course of the quarrel, she said I have a bad memory
because I don't have sex, and sexual intercourse is good
for the memory.  I asked her where she heard this, but

I recently learned that my father is on Aricept; he is 79 and been
having increasing problem with memory, mood and confusion. My mother
dismissed it as old age dementia. But I believe she is just in denial
or stigmatizes Alzheimer's. I think with the prescription we are

After having mom in a senior residence for 2 months where she's now
getting good nutrition, and having completed all the physical
evaluations known to man, it turns out she doesn't have alzheimers.  It
was apparently a combo of poor nutriton,low sodium and normal senility

A friend's Mom has Alzeheimers and needs 24/7 assistance.
She has Social Security and Medicare of course.
She is entiteld to some amount, undetermined, from her deceased
husband's Military Service in WWII he was 30% service related disabled.

Mom fell out of bed in the middle of the night a few weeks ago at the NH.
She doesn't know she can't walk without assistance, tries to get up by
herself and falls.  So the NH ordered fall mats for the floor by her bed,
but before they were delivered, she fell again.  This time ...

I've got a great uncle and aunt who are in their 90s. She has
alzheimers but is in great shape physically. He's still got a wealth
of knowlege but showing signs of senility, plus his sight and hearing
have rapidly deteriorated and become very poor.
