I've been reading the newsgroup for a few months now. Lots of good advice and I've been taking notes. My dad has Alzheimers _and_ vascular dementia. My mother (61) is his sole caretaker, although she is arranging for him to go into day therapy

Thanks for the input. What is the difference between Alzheimers and vascular dementia? Is the treatment the same? My husband takes Airicept and Nanenda. Heard someone on the radio say these medications were not effective and just a way for drug companies to make money. I
