My mother has Alzheimer ans she is on the wait list for three nursing homes with the CCAC in Ontario. She has been assigned priority 2 out of 3. 1 being urgent cases. I am also being told that the intake for the nursing home is from 2

I have noticed that sometimes I think mom pretends to know someone because after they leave she will ask me "who was that lady"? I tell her our neighbor for 30 years. I guess she really doesn't want people to know that she doesn't remember them. she can put on a good act. but then

My Grandmother is in Assisted Living in Florida & I'm in PA. The Doc ordered her to move out of AL & into a Nursing Home because she can't swallow with out someone sitting there to tell her to swallow twice. I'm somewhat miffed I thought AL would help in those cases. My neighbors ...

How long does the last stage of Alzheimer's last. My mother can't speak, she hasn't been able to walk for about a year, her arms and legs have become rigid, she is having trouble sitting up, she is incontinent. This has lasted about 6 months so far, and I don't know

I have noticed mom keeps saying how tired she is and she sleeps a lot now. I catch her cat napping during the day and she goes to bed around 7:30 am and sleeps until 8:00 am is this part of the disease or is it old age?

I sometimes feel guilty of wishing mom would go home and be at peace. I know she must be frustrated about having to live like this and I am too. I want to get a life again. I hope it is normal feelings on my part to think like this.
