Bit of an update as per Tony's request.
This is really UK-only, in fact probably England only, as it concerns the
arbitrary way in which English local authorities try to extract money from
people. I think its different in Wales and Scotland.

Following a stroke at the beginning of September 2006, my Mom has been

Emory University where she has received fantastic attention and

 My mom had 2 days and nights of no sleep.Not a wink.I have had
several people tell me that a full moon can affect people in many ways
and it may have been due to the fact that there was a full moon.I had
heard of this before but dismissed it.Anyone know of this?Her nurse

..attending an 'interview' tomorrow where I think the social services are
going to try and get us to pay for my dads care, even though as far as I
understand the law clearly states they should be paying in his case.

I've noticed some posts here discussing Vascular Dementia.  As most of you
know I've somewhat discounted Alzheimer's for my mother's dementia because
of the long length of time since her diagnosis (1993).  Most doctors just
