Hes ok, back to his smiling usual self. He ahd the dog the other night, no
probs at all.
I hope to take him to a local small heritage museum on Mon, where he donated
lots of v old shop stuff from whe he retired. Like a old hand turned bacon

Karen,I just read in another post where you mentioned your MIL's
stuttering and aphasia to Faith. Karen to Faith:"I don't think she's
going to be able to communicate verbally that much longer. She developed

We moved my mother in on Monday.  She's adjusting ok... I guess, but
I'm certainly not.  She does seem uncomfortable at meals with her table
mates whom, to her, seem so much more disabled, and that depresses her.

I think I read it here, but someone said that statistically, incontinence
issues are the main reason why people come to feel that placement in a
nursing home is necessary.   It was a factor when we placed Ida, but not the
only reason.   The main reason was her lack of mobility ...

my MIL has been driving me NUTS the last while...especially last night, and
for about the last 2 hours this evening
just now, she came to stand behind me again - something that just creeps me
out... she just stands here and stares at me.... in my space

anyone have experience with some kind of bracelet or collar that an AD
patient could wear that would send off a signal if they go too far?

I didn't know this until my daughter told me....There is a 5 day respite
care, A doctor orders it.  I don't know how it works but believe its
part of medicare.   I asked my DR. about it.  She said there was this 5
day thing ...I didn't ask more than that because I knew I  needed ...

Monday, my son took his Dad to A L without incidence.
Tuesday he got out,(escaped?) no one knows how.
Police got him into their car 2 blocks away.  He never wandered before,
but he wanted the police to take him home.

has been contending for several years now with a member suffering (and
declining) from Alzheimer's.  Over the last several weeks, one problem

well, not really ... but I am more than a ~little~ frustrated and UPSET
we're in Ontario .... so receive home care services through a local agency -
the funding comes through the Community Care Access Centre.  Worked SO well
for a while... but recently CCAC awarded the contract ...

My family is getting ready to move my mother into assisted living.  She
was indpendent until late February, then had a huge decline, because of
a number of different factors.  She has improved since february, but is
no longer able to be left alone and the progression of the disease
