Mom Likes... :-)31 Jan 2005 17:42 GMT2
Well,I know my 84yo Mom with alzheimers likes Sesame Street & and right
now she's enjoying watching Clifford, the Big Red Dog. :-) Earlier she

that she was getting a little miffed at some of the kids there not
OT - humor31 Jan 2005 15:00 GMT2
Four brothers left home for college, and they became successful
professionals and prospered.  Some years later, they chatted after having
dinner together. They discussed the gifts they were able to give their
elderly mother who lived far away in another city.

results. I now go to an ENT specialist. The shocker was, my doctor told me,
question about progession of AD27 Jan 2005 13:23 GMT2
It became obvious that my MIL was in the earlier stages of AD in 2000. 2 years
ago we could no longer take care of her in our home and she was placed in an
excellent ALF. She has been incontinant for about 2 years, now she has gotten
to the point that she cannot speak coherently. ...
opinions?26 Jan 2005 03:22 GMT35
we're  having some discussion re: dealing with my MILs newest ~behaviour~
... i.e. that of being nasty, demanding and downright RUDE.
My thought is that, while I'm certainly not going to reward rude behaviour,
since she's no longer capable of reason/learning, it's NOT appropriate to
Clearing of Artery blockages etc25 Jan 2005 00:57 GMT10
Hi, my Father has alzheimers as well as frontal and peripheral lobe damage
and while researching this and things to stop the blockage of the arteries
that have caused the lobe damage I came across a site that I hope someone
else may have heard off.

I am looking for personal information, if comfortable, about the
families struggles with this life alterting disease. The effects it
has on those left behind, and those who are living around it today.

Thinking into the future23 Jan 2005 09:09 GMT11
My Mom was recently diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's. She is in the
very initial stages, and most of the time you might forget that she has any
problems at all. However, everything that I have read indicates that this is
an aggressive form of Alzheimer's and moves much more ...
Mom won't bathe23 Jan 2005 09:01 GMT15
We are having problems getting my mother to bathe.  She is very obstinate,
stubborn and goes ballistic when we gently suggest getting a visiting nurse

whenever I'm over there, and wherever I manage to find some ...
