Namenda--How long before you know if it helps?13 Mar 2004 20:26 GMT3
I was just wondering how long you have to give this drug to see if it will have
any effect. For those of you who have seen good results, how long was the
person on it for before these results could be seen?
Newbie New Thread?13 Mar 2004 18:57 GMT3
I have been reading, relating to, and  learning from your posts for
almost a year. I moved my parents from Va to NJ thinking I would provide
the help they needed in an independent assisted living situation. Within
three months, we were all blessed that there was another part of ...

Where Do I Start - - or End10 Mar 2004 21:57 GMT64
I promise to keep this brief.  Here are the facts.  I was estranged
from my family for 13 years until last September.  My father called
and asked me to come see my mother ... no explanation as to why.  I
drove the 60 miles only to discover my mother has AD and hasn't a clue
Can Aricept CAUSE dementia /?10 Mar 2004 16:26 GMT42
I'm not demented but my mother is. It seems that when she does NOT take the
aricept, life's good. One pill though and she sees GW marching through her
walls chasing after that fictional character Bin what's-his-name.
I repeat .. no dementia on my part (though it may seem so)
Surgery? It's a tumor10 Mar 2004 16:25 GMT24
Hello, again.
I would greatly appreciate everyone's opinion.  My 79 yr. old mom w/ AD
is in the hospital with severe diarhea.  Turns out she has a tumor in
her intestine where it meets the colon.  It's the size of a tennis ball

Hello everyone.  I had been posting about my Father for a bit here and
wanted to say thank you to you all for listening and all the advice.
He passed quietly early Monday morning.

PET Scan10 Mar 2004 16:25 GMT1
I am very concerned about getting Alzheimers.  My grandmother (I
suspect) had it, my dad was diagnosed with it in his early 70's,  my 51
yr old sister cant find her way home from the store.   When I visited
her, she was 7 hours (!!!) 7 hours!   late picking me up from the
At home with Hospice10 Mar 2004 16:25 GMT13
I just wanted to let you all know that my mom is getting the best care
from my family & hospice.  Hospice also provided her with a hospital
bed, wheelchair, pads, diapers, boost.
My mom lost her strength to walk, after all the tests in the hospital.

Hi, all:
It's been a while since I posted. Just giving an update of sorts and letting
you know about something that kind of surprised me.
George continues to improve in some areas. Of course, we all know he'll
Prayer list09 Mar 2004 23:40 GMT12
I would like to create a prayer list here.  All of us who are caring for
someone with dementia or who has a loved one suffering from dementia knows
how hard it is.  The patient needs our prayers too.  Some have asked for
prayers on this NG but all of us need prayers.
OT: But I could use some prayers09 Mar 2004 18:55 GMT13
Hi, Everybody:
This has nothing to do with AD, but I could really use some prayers.
It's all that's left for my sister and her husband.
My BIL, Jack, is 2 months younger than I. He'll be 54 in September. My
