Some noise has been generated over the topic of using acupuncture as part of a smoking cessation program. Clearly, all addiction treatments require more of the patient than of the physician. However, people who get acupuncture do better than those who do not.

I have heard from from shopkeepers that if you cool milk below a particular temparature for a certain period of time, it will kill all the germs in it or in other words it will have the effect of boiling the milk , which will kill the germs. How true is this statement ?

Obviously, Stanford doesn't have a monopoly on using acupuncture in conjunction with anesthesia. After all, it is known to reduce the amount of opiods needed and greatly reduce the risk of side effects from those meds.

Senator Ted Kennedy is undergoing surgery to debulk a brain tumor. He's chosen to have that procedure done at Duke University. Not surprisingly, that medical university offers acupuncture in their hospitals. I wonder if Senator Kennedy will get post-surgical
