The following method of licensure is available to Canadian pharmacists who graduated from a CCAPP accredited College of Pharmacy in 1993 through June 30, 2004.
IF YOU ARE A GRADUATE OF A COLLEGE OF PHARMACY IN CANADA, WHICH HAS A CURRICULUM THAT IS TAUGHT IN ENGLISH, YOU WILL NEED TO DO THE FOLLOWING:
1. Submit a letter to the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy, which outlines your work experience as an intern and as a pharmacist in Canada. This letter should be submitted to the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as soon as possible, as it will need to go before the Board of Pharmacy for approval. The Board of Pharmacy meets approximately once a month. If the Board does not approve your internship or work as a pharmacist in Canada as meeting our internship requirements you will need to obtain additional internship experience. Please contact the Board office for further information regarding internship requirements.
2. Request a packet of information for the Board examinations.
3. You must complete all board examination applications and submit them to the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy with the appropriate fees, along with all supporting documentation that is required.
4. You must pass the Board's practical examination, North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX), and Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE).
5. You must pay the Board of Pharmacy the required Original Licensure Fee.
6. You may then begin working as a pharmacist.

Hi,
I'm a Canadian 4th year pharmacy student. I was just at a pharmacy career fair and Walgreens Pharmacy was one of the exibitors. They told me that I could work in Washington State or Minnesota in their pharmacies without doing the state equivalancy exam. For some reason, they wouldn't give me an idea of the amount of money I would be making if I signed up. I'm just curious if anyone knows what the wages are for pharmacists in these particular states is, or in the US in general.
Thanks!
