My initial prescription (1993) had an advisory to 'tell all Doctors and Dentists you are taking this' -- my Dentist said that if any reactions might show up, that it would often first appear in the Teeth or Gums. He changed my Checkup frequency (at that time) from each 6 months to each *4 months. As I didn't get adequate control by 1995, my Neuro changed me off that to Tegretol CR (for *my type of szrs.) and later a second medication with reduced Tegretol amount. Last 2 szrs. I had were Dec. 97, June 98 -- that only matters as they suggested in 1993, I might *hope for a target of 2-3 seizures per month, based on EEGs and MRIs done at that time. Although the Tegretol had a similar note about telling all Doctors and Dentists, I was moved back to 6 month checkup rate a year after the change-over. Did your Doctor *not change you to another Medication when the side effects appeared? G./
