I agree with Dr. B. You need a medical consult with your physician first regarding your epilepsy(sodium phenytoin for seizure, correct?) and sugar level. I would refer you to an Oral Surgeon for the extraction under genreal, with your physician's approval.

Ask your physician. General anesthesia is out of the question if you can't go without food for a minimum of 6 hrs. Sedation MAY be acceptable.

scared

Just backed out of an extraction of a tooth from the bottom left hand side of my mouth (near the middle)
The reason i backed out was i was so scared, the dentist injected the drugs, waited for every thing to go numb then as he was pushing on the tooth i started to panic and asked for a rest, on the second attempt i backed out nearly immediately.
I have an abscess under the tooth which created pain every time i put any pressure on the tooth, so i have been eating on the other side of my mouth
I also take sodium phenytoin, and need to eat regularly every 6 hours to keep my blood sugar level.
The dentist is recommending I consider IV sedaion.
Is this possible with my tablets and also the fact that I need to eat regularly
How can I clear the abscess under the tooth and, if I manage to clear the abscess will the pain be less if I try the extraction again.
