"Actually the two concepts are very different.  Your concept that one's
soul is ill until sins are forgiven is not described anywhere in the
Holy Bible.  And, for the discerning, your man-made concept is untrue.
What is written is that sin leads to eternal separation from GOD as
souls are cast into the lake of fire once it is determined their
respective names are not in the Lamb's book of Life (Revelation 20:15).
Until then, there is nothing written about souls either being or
becoming sick from sin.

My name is definitely written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

You seem not so sure about your name.

Actually what was said is that the two ideas are not mutually exclusive.
When we sin we are separated from God, when we confess our sins and He
is quick to forgive we can be drawn unto Him again.  If we don't confess
our sins and repent the sickness of the stain that separates us from God
can't be healed.

In the gospels we find, also in response to the pharisees (smile):

And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, "Those who are well have no
need of a physician, but those who are sick; I came not to call the
righteous, but sinners."

Healing is also used again by our Lord, along with the theme of being
drawn to and being united with God:

"4 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we,
being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye
were healed.

For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the
Shepherd
                       and Bishop of your souls."

Christ has been called the "great physician" and the church the
"hospital.

The status of my soul and of my faith is known only to god, as is the
church in which I'm priviledged to commune, in terms of your claims to
magical powers of remote perception/discernment derived from pagan
taoist doctrines.  We have the measure of that claim now and testing it
find it empty, as would you if you were to consult a spiritual advisor
concerning this and other doctrines you proclaim and as invented by
consulting your own understanding as a reference.  If we confess our
sins God is quick to forgive them, reliance on the vanity of our minds,
as the scriptures speak, is to almost surely to lead us away from the
2000 years of orthodox teaching and doctrine and to put us in danger of
seperation from God.

Asking for your prayers on my behalf, God's blessing and protection and
peace upon you, God have mercy on me a sinner. .

"Actually, it is obvious to the most casual observer that there is no
reference to soul in James 5:14-16."

To have our sins forgiven is to heal our souls, no claim was made to
James in that regard.  Scripture speaks of "by His stripes we are
healed", if one wants to see such a thought of healing and the health of
our souls in His work on our behalf.  Confession is to turn to God, as
we are instructed, that He may turn to us.  When we confess our sins He
is quick to forgive them, indeed "70 times 70 times" as long as we
continue to turn to Him in confession and repentance.

"Bottomline: You remain without the Holy Spirit.  Indeed, it is written
that only those who have received Christ's baptism receive the Holy
Spirit.  Moreover, it is not clear to me that you are even Christian. I
sense that you are not sure either.

Still praying for you, dear catholic neighbor."

Smile, trying to change the subject is a common ploy for those building
on shifting sand.  Baptism and reception of the Holy Spirit were years
past in my walk on this earth.

Your evocation of the taoist "life force energy", "chi", by using the
short hand of "Holy Spirit" and claiming to therefore hold magical
powers of perception at a distance fail.  You diagnos the condition of
my soul, something left only to God to know, and of my denomination for
which you continue to fail to guess correctly.

Just as your invented false doctrines were tested against orthodox
doctrine and found falling short, your claim to some kind of absolute
infallible discernment is thus also tested and equally found falling
short.  I'm reminded of the parable told of the pharisee who pointed a
finger at another in the temple at prayer and proclaimed that he thanked
God that he was not a sinner like the other.  The other whose prayer was
"God be merciful to me a sinner".  Which of these did our Lord say found
favor?

Let me offer you my other cheek, and please do take my coat as well.

Consulting a spiritual advisor guards against the errors of self
reference only errors of doctrine and interpretation as it opens one to
orthodox doctrine and teaching held these 2000 years.  Thanking you as
always for your prayers on my behalf, God's blessing and protection and
peace upon you, God forgive me a sinner.
