This is a popular fantasy of alties that just isn't true.The parasite caused
diseases that are seen in modern society can be counted on your fingers.
Parasite diseases that are commonly seen can be counted on three fingers.
Parasite diseases that can be treated with herbal preparations, at least
preparations that are not more harmful than the parasites, can be counted
with no fingers at all. People who use herbals, "cleanses", and "zappers" to
treat imaginary parasites, and then feel all warm and fuzzy and smart
because they have no pathogenic parasites are countless.

Okay, the history of ulcers first. Ulcers were treated for centuries with
little to no success with various diets, mineral antiacids, and all kinds of
worthless altie therapy regimens until SCIENCE discovered that many (not
all) ulcers are caused by a bacterium. Treatment with (big pharmaceutical
manufactured) antibiotics is A SUCCESSFUL CURE for those kinds of ulcers.

Crohn's is an autoimmune disorder that is largely hereditary. It can be well
managed with diet and (big pharm) medications.

IBS is also more effectively treated by conventional medicine than by any
altie voodoo.

Even back then, those "scientists" did not have respect or credibility in
the real scientific world. Scientists are not so naive as you seem to think.

Parasites, and their simple treatment with items like garlic, ginger,
cloves, wormwood,  has been overlooked because a fortune can be made by
classifying sympotms as diseases and treating symptoms, not the root
cause.

Take a look at the history of ulcers, Crohn's disease, and IBS....

I would never have believed this, but money talks...look at how the
cigarette lobby was able to find 'scientiests' to say that smoking does
not cause cancer...!!!

There is a saying in the medical profession that a doctor who treats himself
has a fool for a patient. I believe we should definately take responsibility
for our own health, but playing doctor can be dangerous.

So "pharm drugs" all cause disease, and altie drugs are all safe and
effective. What a silly premise!

Your faith in diet/nutritional medicine is misplaced. Even those diseases
that are largely diet controlled, such as diabetes, are better managed by
prescription medications in addition to diet. Diabetics these days live much
longer with fewer complications.

Hardly. The fact that many doctors overprescribe can be better attributed to
consumer demand than to pharmaceuticals manufacturer's coercion or
collusion. Patients don't want to make any effort to follow a doctors
advice. They prefer the convenience of taking a pill.

Perhaps the internet will make the truth accessable to more people, but it
also gives them access to a lot of bullshit, too. I doubt that it will
contribute to the ability to choose wisely.
