I'm 19. When I was 8 I had surgery on both eyes for strabismus. Not
sure of the details but I could get them if necessary. The surgery
was done @ Childrens Hospital of Phildelphia.
Until last year I had all my eye doctor visits at CHOP. Then I saw my
parents' eye doctor (who I will NEVER see again.) When I inquired
about contact lenses (I wear glasses), he said I can not wear them
because enough oxygen will not get into my eye.
Why does this happen? Thanks in advance.

I agree with your decision NEVER to see this eye doctor again. There are
many lenses on the market capable of delivering more than enough oxygen to
the eye. What is your prescription?

Dear Chery Berry,
I have had strabismum surgery also. I am 65 years old.
I also had "vision training". The vision training
was much more difficult -- but the correct idea.
Kids are very resistant to that type of work -- they
do not like to get "naged" to do it.
However I do not know the connection you are making
between strabismum and the advice you have received
on contact lenes. Could you explain the connection?
Thanks,
Otis
