I have worn the Cibavision Focus Night & Day lenses for several years, and
found them quite comfortable.
Recently at the OD though, he gave me a sample of "AirOptix Night and Day",
by the same company.
Is there any difference between Focus N&D and AO N&D, or is it just a new
name? It looks like they both use the same material (I think lotrafilcon A),
the highest DK soft contact material there is. (Different than the material
in the regular (not N&D) Airoptix lenses, which is lotrafilcon B, I think,
not nearly as high a dK.)
Is there any change in how the new (AO) N&Ds are cut? Can one still buy the
old (Focus) N&Ds, or have they been completely discontinued?
The strange thing is--I find the new AO N&D to be much less comfortable.
What could cause that?
My old Focus N&Ds had a BC of 8.4, and I notice the new one is 8.6. Could
that cause decreased comfort? Does the new AO N&Ds still come available in
8.4 BC?
Thank you.

No comments regarding the differences (if any) between these two lenses?

When I tried Focus N&D, I found them horrifically uncomfortable. That said, a
different base curve can easily change the comfort factor. I can say from
personal experience that Oasys lenses at 8.8 feel much different than Oasys
lenses at 8.4.
I'm partial these days, though, to Biofinity, which comes in 8.6, has a very
high O2 throughput, and rounded edges (unlike N&D).
