Why has nobody mentioned 2.5 eyephorics or swissflex frames on this
ng? I think they are the most incredible frames -- the lightness
(e.g., 2.5 grams for eyephorics) is amazing and they are so
comfortable. I just got a pair of swissflex and I love them. I paid
$565 for them. I know that sounds outrageous, but this is my first
new pair of glasses in 7 years...
There is info on these frames on http://www.italee.com . They are
incredibly hard to find, though ... I had to travel hundreds of
miles... Apparently they are worn a lot in Europe, but I haven't seen
anyone wearing them in the U.S. except for the one person who turned
me on to them.
Is anyone familiar with them? If so, what do you think? The material
of choice for the lenses is polycarbonate, which I know gets dissed a
lot. I don't have any distortion at all with these glasses, so I'm
not sure what all the fuss is about. I realize it can be related to
the strength of your prescription, and I guess mine is not super
strong.

Interesting frames. Made from the same material as the Silhouette
Minimal X I wear but sans the titanium core.

If you have no distortion, then you have no prescription. :-)
Likely anyone selling $565 frames isn't selling the same poly as in
the 2 for $99 special at the mall. Some polycarbonate formulations -
Optima Resolution for example - are said to be pretty good.

I live in Minneapolis, and one store has them and promotes them heavily. I
need a new pair after 6 years too. I have been wearing Silhouette and have
loved them, but now they seem boring.
They quoted me about the same price - that includes lenses of course. It is
not, despite what some will tell you, to have polycarbonate with rimless
lenses. I have High Index with my Silhouette, and will get HI 1.67 now.
So you really like them?

Could you tell me the name of the store in Minneaplolis. I need to contact
them for new nose pieces.
Thanks.

I have these frames bought in USA but now live in Canada. Do you know of a
store that sells them in either country? I need to order new nose pieces.
Thanks.
Aileen
