It's a well established fact that a respectable woman cannot appear in public
twice wearing the same outfit.  Men, of course, can.  But is there an
obligation for a woman who happened to wear glasses to have a different pair
with a different frame for every public appearance?

As a woman who does not obey fashion orders and chooses to remain independent
of passing fads, I dare to wear more than once the same timeless outfit, and
I admit to wearing always the same glasses, unless I need a different
prescription.  But I am not a good example for a respectable woman, and
therefore I am not running for any public office.  Actually, I have one pair
of glasses which I use most of the time, and one spare pair, which is
actually my driving glasses.

But I have noticed that Sarah Palin has numerous pairs of glasses, and my
question is:  How many pairs a governor who wants to be the U.S. vice
president needs?

I know a lot of women who have multiple glasses, multiple watches, and
multiple everything else.

Everyone should have at least two pair, as a backup.

I haven't noticed that she wears multiple glasses (and I bet you didn't
notice it either until someone told you about it).

BTW, how many hair plugs did Joe Biden need to become a VP candidate?
MsBrainy - 16 Sep 2008 03:35 GMT
Wrong Mark, nobody told me and if you look you'll see that she has countless
pairs.  Why do you think that somebody else is capable of noticing it but I
cannot?

I have no idea about hair pieces Joe Biden has, but this important issue
belongs elsewhere, not in a vision group, so I will not elaborate on it.

I haven't noticed that Palin wears multiple pairs (she wears fairly
unobtrusive frames from what I can see), but most women I know have more
than one pair.

Biden doesn't have a hairpiece, he has hair plugs (transplants). How many
pair of contacts does Biden have?

Why is any of your blabbering idiot post relevant to a vision group?

Lighten up Mark.  It has been boring here since the mysterious disappearance
of Zetsu and the diminishing quantity of Otis' posts.

I put those idiots on my ignore list a long time ago.

Good to know that you're there to take their place. Well done, with your
"well established fact." You fit right in.

1 pair for church
1 pair for bible class
1 pair for moose-hunting
1 pair for lying

and a few dozen additional pairs now on order by Carl Rove for future
campaign appearances (mostly at church services).

PS -- imagine what a bad month it has been for Bristol Palin's
boyfriend.

I am glad that we are now getting involved in important issues. It is
not that gay marriage and poor schools are not important to us. At least
we qill no longer waste our time on war, budgets, taxes, failing banks
and all that other unpleasant stuff that interfere with having a
carefree life.

As many as she wants. Why should someone else having multiple pairs
of glasses concern you?

Because the left will use whatever ridiculous criticisms they can find to
bring down their opponents.

the "left" has not made such an allegation.  it seems to be that you
are biased toward the "right" and thus likely are an opinionated
McCane supporter.

I think "ridiculous criticisms" include accusing OBama of legislating
in favor of sex education for kindergardeners, and favoring tax hikes
for all Americans.  Its all bullshit. And the only way that tired old
McCane could energize his campaign, aside from his recent flurry of
gutter-attacks, is by selecting an unknown charismatic fledgling women
governor as his running mate-- truly a master stroke.  I didn't give
him credit for doing it-- perhaps it was Carl Rove's idea.  Now
suddenly OBama is not the popular one, and everyone ignors the real
issues (to the Republicans benefit) while they discuss Sara Palin's
outspoken character, blah blah blah.

Will it stick for the next 7 weeks?  Will the voters continue to be
dazed by the mind-numbing advertising tactics of the Republicans?

So are you claiming that the person who made the initial post about Palin's
multiple pair of glasses is a McCain supporter?  I think it is fairly safe
to day they are not, and they are on the "left" of the political spectrum.

Just to make it clear, I expressed no opinion or criticism about Sarah
or her multiple glasses.  I simply asked a question, which nobody has
answered yet, including spammer (my question was as to HOW MANY she,
or anybody in her position, NEEDS, not how many she WANTS).

Well, now I have another question:  Are there any republicans here
with some sense of humor?

Give me a break and don't insult my intelligence.

It wasn't meant as humor, so why should anyone take it that way.

Please don't lie any more. It makes you look worse than you already are.

I'm not sure that's logically possible.  To be a Republican requires shutting
down so many parts of the brain that a sense of humor is, tragically, a victim
of collateral damage.

... and Mark A's angry posts are a good example (and evidence) of your
statement :-)  He never even recognized what was obvious to others -- that my
OP was done with the intention of being humorous.

It was done as cheap sexist attack that could only come from another female.

Now I suppose that you are going to tell me that:

1. It is unusual for women (who can afford it) to have more than one pair of
glasses, and/or
2. That it is a complete coincidence that you are will not be voting for her
this fall.

I am sure that you think it is humorous to make ad hominem attacks upon
people you have political differences with, but perhaps it would be more
fruitful to criticize her on the issues instead. But something tells me that
is beyond your intellectual ability.

It is little wonder that Hilary didn't get the Presidential or VP nomination
form the Democrats.

Issues, issues, ISSUES! Does any voter give a sh** about issues? That is
why both major candidates are talking about them in a TRULY SERIOUS way.

Why should candidates talk about issues when voters only want to talk about
the fact that a woman candidate has more than one pair of glasses?
Neil Brooks - 17 Sep 2008 22:42 GMT
I'll tell you who has NO sense of humor ... when it comes to optical
wear.  It's the Constitution Pary and Green Party candidates.

I mean ... come ON!

[felt like I had to add something....]

If that is the case why is Little Bush often referred to as a joke?
