I have just had my eyes tested and this is
the result:

Right:  +2.00 / -0.50 x 150
Left:     +2.75 / -1.00 x 90

Add  +2.50

What does the "add" mean?

Peter.

That means you need bifocals or progressive lenses to clearly at a distance
and while reading, and the +2.50 is the additional strength needed in the
bottom reading area of you lens.

So you distance vision is +.200/+2.75 and your reading area is +4.50/+5.25
(not taking into account the correction for astigmatism which is -.50 at 150
degrees axis , and -1.00 at 90 degrees axis).

You do have the option of getting a single vision lens made with that Rx for
distance only, but you will not be able read or see at near distances very
well with those lenses.
