Hmmm...you seem somewhat old-fashioned. And by that I mean ancient.
Have you not looked into Dr. Bates' work?

Sorry to be so blunt but the Bates method just works. Do not killfile
me.

Please see the latest thread 'RP Explained', another superbly valuable
article by Dr.Bates. It will give you a simple but very thorough
explanation of the disease, without a large degree of medical
terminology so laymen and doctors alike can understand it.

Dr Bates was a prominent doctor back in the 1920s with a very immense
and vast knowledge on the subject of eye diseases as a result of many
decades of experience with patients. He sought to uncover the truths
and superstitions in the field of ophthalmology, and throw light on
more stranger phenomenon - such as the mind's value in the prevention
of bodily pain, and how memory and imagination can be used with
miraculous efficacy to cure even the most obstinate of organic defects
- including retinitis pigmentosa.

He begins with a simple description of the condition - symptoms,
manifestation,  available treatments, and so forth. Further onwards he
describes cases in which retinitinis pigmentosa, contrary to the
belief held by the doctors here on sci.med.vision, has been both
temporarily relieved and completely cured. He then gives various
suggestions through which a patients of all ages suffering from the
disease can be helped or cured.

Read the article and you'll see!

Oh and if I'm hyper enough later today, I'll type it up all by myself.

Should I do it, Zetus?

Please tell me what on God's green earth makes you think this is "superbly
valuable"?

I'll tell you again... stop preaching your faith-based cures and learn some
science.

It's superbly valuable because once again we see that the eye is able
to recover from even the very most severe of defects and so those who
are currently undergoing the rest treatment may be reassured in
knowing that there have been people before them who have used the
method with success in a situation worse than their own.

Disturbing though it may be, it's sometimes comforting knowing that
there are people worse off than you are, like sometimes I complain
that 'life is boring, nothing to do' but then I take a look at people
in Africa who are dying of starvation and think 'whoa, my life is
great compared to theirs. I should feel happy'
