Difference between Acuvue Oasys and Advance?

I went for an eye exam 3 days ago, and my doc had me try Oasys lenses.
I used to wear AV2, but after 6 hours, they'd become very
uncomfortable, so I quit wearing them.  The Oasys lenses were comfy
and the vision was great, but I kept having the sensation that the
lenses might be too tight. My eyes were't irritated, but they felt
like they were being squeezed. I went back to my eye doc today, and he
said that yes, the lenses were indeed too tight.  He said he normally
prefers a tighter fit, but I was probably too sensitive to a steeper
lens.  He then informed me that Oasys now comes in a flatter lens (8.8
BC) and I could try that.  Unfortunately, he didn't have any trial
lenses in his office, so he gave me AV Advance lenses in 8.7 BC and
said the lenses were similar, but had some subtle differences.  What,
exactly, are those differences? They do seem to fit better, but have a
different "sensation" on my eyes.

Thanks,
Ed

Advance are made of the same material as Oasys, but are slightly
softer.  They have less of the "Hydraclear" stuff in the lenses, so
will dry out before Oasys does.

Beyond that, Oasys has a higher oxygen permiability, and are sold as
extended wear lenses, while Advance are not.  The latter still has
much more permiability than Acuvue 2, and will be much more
comfortable if you happen to fall asleep in them.

That's about it for the differences in the material.

Thank you, Mike.  I did indeed notice the Advance lenses drying out
moreso than the Oasys. My vision seemed "crisper" with the Oasys, too.

the plastic is different.  the "hydraclear" additive is different.
they are just different lenses.
