Thought I would share my experiences and see if anyone had any advice.
I started about four weeks ago (-3.75 R/-4.00 L) and there are
problems.
First, things are very inconsistent. Usually the right eye is better
than the left. When I went in for my first follow-up I was 20/20 in
the right but the doctor ordered a stronger correction for the left
(hasn't come in yet).
Of course the day after I see him it improves on its own for several
days and things seem to be 20/20 in both. Then the right eye gets
worse for a couple days, then one day I wake up and both are way off,
etc. It's not fun waking up each morning wondering if you'll be able
to see. And of course I get major headaches if the eyes don't match.
Second, I have giant pupils (9mm, hence no LASIK) and while the doctor
was surprised he didn't say anything about it not working. The huge
halos/starbursts would indicate otherwise. He says we'll move to a
larger correction area after fixing problem #1. I'm trying to press
him to move on this quickly since I can't really see well in anything
other than bright sun.
Also, does anyone have advice on how to deal with sticky lenses? Most
of the time it hurts getting mine out with the little plunger thing
since the lens seems to form a suction cup of its own.

Dear Renew,
Sorry to hear about your difficulties with Ortho-K.
A refractive STATE of -4 diopters is at the limit of
Ortho-K, and some variability might develope from that
fact.
How much does Ortho-K cost?
How long did the optometrist say it would take
to get stable 20/20 vision?
When you get to 20/20, can you quit wearing
your Ortho-K lenses?
Thanks,
Otis
