good question.  i "hear" there are a dozen or so labs that have been
fitting them for a few months.  supposedly they will be released to
some private doctors first while stocks are built up, and then they
will go out to the larger optical outlets in late fall.  supposedly.

anyway, i think there is a good potential for the bioaffinity product
line.  SiHi lenses are definitely preferred, and there are pluses and
minuses to all the existing competitive products.  av advance-- dirty
too easily.  oasys-- much better but pricier than your average joe
wants he has problems that must be solved. 02 Optix-- good lenses but
i'm still smartin' after their supply screw up which pissed off alot
of my patients and made me look bad.  purevision-- hi modulus
(stiffness) makes many patients not like them and they are also kind
of pricey.  If Coopervision comes in with a good product at a price
equal or a buck or two less than advance or 02, they'll clean up
IMHO.  obviously we need torics and nobody does 'em better than
coopervision.  and obviously we need multifocals and nobody does 'em
better than coopervision.  the future looks bright for coopervision
unless they stumble.  CIBA screwed up so badly beginning 5 years ago
and continues to screw up allowing other companies to come in and grab
what could have been their's.  their CEO should be led out the back
door, blindfolded, and shot.
