i posted this but it is nowhere to be found,,,so excuse me as i post
again.
i just got pvd in my right eye,,,last night, in fact. saw a dr. today
and that's what he diagnosed. after reading up on it,,,,,is there some
preventitive measure i can take to keep the "gel" from further
change?? or must i except things as they are.
also for my own edification, can someone tell me why this is
happening. .....if i focus on a spot, the floaters "disappear", and
when i shift my eyes they reappear. if i focus on a spot, AND CONTINUE
TO FOCUS ON THAT SPOT WITH MY EYES while shifting MY HEAD the
floaters don't reappear.
what is causing this phenomenum?
thanks

Floaters: after vitreous detachment, you usually get more floaters.
>From what I understand, these are strands of tissue debris, bits of
"flotsam" inside your eye, that cast shadows on the retina. They move,
change position, swap with each other, etc.--the floating bits respond
to movement of your head, your eye and gravity. I suppose everybody's
floaters act a bit differently. The "best case scenario" is when they
DON'T hang there right in the center, obscuring vision.,
I had VDs in both eyes--and I have lots of big floaters. But I'm used
to them--they don't bug me as much as when the VD first occurred--they
broke up and dissipated a bit. Still, I have less clear vision and
need higher light levels now than I did before.
