I'm doing a trial of Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism and am wondering how
many sessions I should wear them before making a decision for or against. I
had thought I'd heard somewhere that they take a bit longer to adapt to and
assess than conventional soft torics.

they can take a little longer to adapt to than conventional HEMA-based
plastics.  usually 1 week is adequate time.  the thing that needs to
be adjusted to is the feeling of the plastic lens on your eye.  oxygen-
transmissable lenses just "feel" different and your corneal physiology
needs to adjust.  If what is different about them is blur, then the
problem may be that the lens is not rotated properly and the
prescription may need to be adjusted to compensate.  thay can happen
with any toric lens but is more likely to happen when you switch
brands.
