Hey all,

Recently my eyes have begun to feel more and more heavy all the time.
It's like they just want to be closed slightly and lose focus to feel
better.  I obviously can't see in this state and am worried about
willingly blurring my vision could be doing to my eyes.  The later in
the day, the worse it gets.

If I keep my eyes focused the whole day, by the time I'm watching TV
at night a lot of the white colouring (letters, shirts, etc.) begin to
have this sort of "duplicate" effect, where it's like they have some
sort of aura glowing around them.  This only affects things like TV
and computer monitors.  It doesn't occur with regular objects.

I wear glasses for reading and on the computer and just got my
prescription renewed with no eye defects (did one of those pictures of
my nerves and stuff).

Anyone have any ideas?  Does this even make sense? ;)

Hi,
I feel you are either staring too much or not blinking naturally &
normally!!! get yourself checked out for convergence inefficiency &
take a glacoma exam. There is nothing to be concerned about. High
stress levels combined with less sleep could also result in the above
symptoms.

The normal blink rate is approx 14 to 18 times a minute.

Best Regards

Were they feeling heavy before the most recent exam and did you
mention it to the doctor?  Does the feeling go away if you wear your
glasses for TV and computer?

If you are in your mid thirties or older, could be distance hyperopia
manifesting or could be a tear problem.  Call your eye doctor's office
and ask if you have any distance prescription in addition to the
reading/computer prescription.  If so, you may need it.  If not,
likely time for a re assessment.

Dear Drafter Girl,

Subject: Using a "reading glass".

One poster, Neil Brooks, has suggested that using
a reading glass -- as you are doing it -- can produce
diplopia.

Perhaps he can explain his proof that that is the case.

You're simply not too bright, are you, Otis?  Difficulty comprehending
simple English, eh?

I have explained that unprescribed use of plus lenses as an alleged
myopia prevention therapy--particularly in young people with
developing neurlogical fusion centers--can cause diplopia.

An unprescribed plus lens--without appropriate evaluation and
prescription for interference with near-vision synkinesis--can disrupt
the triad of near vision.

This is not that.

The original poster has been prescribed reading glasses.

You're simply not too bright, are you?

>Perhaps he can explain his proof that that is the case.

I've povided "proof" by witnessing YOU induce double vision in over a
dozen people who--unknowingly--followed your advice.  I've also
provided you -- hundreds of times -- with the SCIENCE that explains
why it happens (note that I'm not talking about theory.  I'm talking
about fact).

You're simply not too bright, are you?

Drafter girl: ignore Otis.  Your eyes will thank you for it.
