Is the pain killer I take for my back slowing down my metabolism?

Hello,
I have arthritis in my lower back that I take Oxycodone for.  I have
two questions that I need a little info on.  Can the Oxycodone slow
down my metabolism to the point where it causes me to gain weight, and
if so, will exercise counter the effects?
