"Complete MoisturePlus" Contact-Lens Solution Recalled
November 23, 2006

Advanced Medical Optics Inc. is recalling 2.9 million packets of its
Complete MoisturePlus multipurpose contact-lens solution and Active
Packs, after it found bacterial contamination in three lots sold in
Japan.

The recall includes 183,000 units sold in the U.S.

The company, based in Santa Ana, Calif., blamed the the contamination
on a water-borne organism that got into some solution at the company's
plant in China. The plant has been shut down until the problem can be
resolved, the company said. Advanced Medical said there is no problem
with the lens solution's formula. ....

This is old news, a recall from last year that is unrelated to today's
recall.

May be old, but in the overall scheme of things, maybe people should
think twice about anything ingestible or topical coming from China.

Maybe products will start carrying a label "NOT made in China"

Rightly so, since they seem to allow poisons in the foods (melamine)
and other things they export.

guess its tough to be a government official in China when things
aren't working out so well.  perhaps we should take a lesson about
holding our country's officials accountable-- starting with the
presidency.

They are held accountable.  If you don't like them, vote 'em out.
Oh, you lost again...

Are you such the complete and total moron as to believe that pointing
out health issues is a form of bashing? Are you really that stupid or
were you in a head trauma accident recently?

I put it to you, that the moron is you, who makes use of every single
issue in the media to denounce anything Chinese, i.e. China bashing. No
doubt you have personally suffered "a head trauma accident recently" to be
so stupid, thus using the present ID that so accurately describes what you
really are.

Okay stupid, it's my fault for arguing with a moron. You choose to be
an idiot, that's your right.

You are speaking to the image on the mirror, Moron, and you don't even
know it, because of your "head trauma accident recently".

Okay, I'll type this slowly for you:   HOW DOES POINTING OUT HEALTH
ISSUES COMING FROM CHINA BECOME CHINA BASHING ?

Otis, meet J. Venning.  J.Venning, Otis.

To you "slowly" is obviously equivalent to shouting, doesn't it,
Spammer? My explaining the issue to you would be futile and a waste of time,
since you don't even accept the term "China-bashing" as what you did. I
can't recall reading anything remotely positive written by you pointing out
other aspects of Chinese culture. This is after all soc.culture.china.

Relating the news of whats been coming out of China is NOT China
bashing. For instance, 500 murders are committed in New York City
every year, is that bashing NYC?  Hell no!!!

I don't see Chinese newsgroups writhing their hands with glee about it,
nor accusing anyone being "in a head trauma accident recently", whereas you
went so far as to write "May be old, but in the overall scheme of things,
maybe people should think twice about anything ingestible or topical coming
from China". To me, that constitutes China-bashing.

Then it's a good thing that no one cares what you think.

No doubt you go around thinking everyone cares about what you think,
specially when you post with "spammer" as your ID.

So ... no?  You won't stop cross-posting this stuff?

Just asking.

I do apologise, but how can I be sure from where my counter part was
posting? Not that it matters, considering the contents of his posts.

Does this mean no fried rice and eggrolls? Very dissappointing.

Then how about this ID ?   Does changing IDs mean I'm China bashing?
One can only hope.

In this context, you are not China bashing, but who believes what you
say?

I'll just note that the product recalled today has been sold in the US
as being made in China, Spain, and the US.  I guess I'll have to toss
my current bottles and move back to AOSept ClearCare.  The peroxide
solutions seem to have the lowest instance of AK problems.

CCTV (China Television) has been incorrectly reporting that the
product was imported from the US.  As far as I know, production of
Complete Moisture Plus had moved exclusively to China and Spain.  It's
been noted that the current recall has nothing to do with
contamination.

http://www.cctv.com/program/bizchina/20070528/102770.shtml

However - I've been using 2 oz bottles of Complete as rewetting
drops.  I'm not quite sure if this problem with high AK instances
really matters in that case.
