I am a female in my late twenties with a problem called convergence
insufficiency. Last year I went to see an orthoptist who gave me this
diagnosis. My right eye drifts outwards at times, exophoria. I was
also given some eye exercises to do at home, which temporarily helped,
athough I admit I didn't have the time to continue them for more than
a few weeks. I was also prescribed a weaker prescription
I'm having the same problems again this year: my right eye is
deviating outwards when i read or do close work. I've never tried
prisms. One thing that helps is patching my good eye. However, I will
be going to see another orthoptist soon. Apparently the best
combination is VT and prisms. Can anyone give me any other advice
before I have my appointment?
Here are my prescription details over the past two years:

Convergence insufficiency is a condition that responds well to VT and
prism. It is worth devoting time to the exercises to see if VT alone
will help, but if you don't have time then you can ask about prism.
