I suffer from eyes that water to the extent that in cold weather it is
embarrasing. A specialist has suggested surgery to remove a small wedge
from each of the lower lids and thus tighten the lids. Has anyone had
this done and if so was it successful. Any comments will be appreciated.
Thanks

This might ONLY work if you have a floppy lid syndrome or an ectropian
lid
(where the lid margin is "pulled" away from the eye).  Have they ruled
out
a closed or obstructed tear duct/canal as a cause of your epiphora
(excess-
ive tearing) ? Have they ruled out an irritative process (such as
allergies,
dry eyes) that could be the cause?

Again, unless your puncta (tear ducts) are not in proper position
I'm not sure how helpful the surgery that is suggested could
be of help.
