I suffer from eyes that water to the extent that in cold weather it is
embarrasing. A specialist has recommended bilatreal lower lid tightening
surgery (local anasthetic) that would take a wedge out of each lower
lids and thus  tighten them. Has anyone had this done and if so was it
successful? Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks

My eyes water in cold weather.  I just wipe it off.  My nose runs also.
I use a tissue.

I have had numerous eye surgeries.  I would rather be embarrased than
have another one.

Not overly supportive are you?  Again.

He asked for comments.  I gave him my opinion.  Just my opinon.  As far
as his actual proposed surgery, I'm not qualified to comment on it.

My eyes water like crazy in cold wind too.  I'm not embarassed, but I
can't see very well.  Having said that, I'd never get surgery for
something like that.  I suspect dry eye in my case.  The solution I'm
looking into is a pair of Wiley-X or Panoptx glasses that seal around
the eye to keep wind out.  They sell them to motorcyclists mostly.

I live in California.  We don't believe in cold weather.

:-)

There's been a cold snap, though.  It was 25 this morning when I went
out walking.  The last few days, I've had tears running down my face.
Perhaps it isn't so bad for me because I know it won't last.
