I've been using Opti-Free's new Replenish solution to clean my lenses.
Occasionally my eyes get dry while wearing them, so I just put a few drops
of this solution directly into my eyes. It does the job, but I'm wondering
if this is safe?
Opti Free sell's a Replenish verion of rewetting drops, but they're a lot
more expensive (but the ingredients are almost identical).
Is using the multipurpose solution a big deal?
Thanks.

Well if those drops dont irritate your eyes, I dont see why they will
if you insert more. But they may not be ideal to keep your eyes moist,
they are meant to clean contacts, but wont/shouldnt irritate the eyes.
If your contacts are causing dry eyes, you may want to wear them less,
wear glasses more.

A more useful answer is: the Opti-Free is safe for your eyes, but it is
not good for your eyes. Use a lubricant drop such as Blink,
Thera-Tears, GenTeal, or Refresh to provide better lubrication without
all the disinfectants and surfactants found in the MPS. The Opti-Free
rewetting drops are just that -- they rewet. But what most CL wearers
need is lubrication and the only lubricant found in the rewetting drops
is the water.
